Louisiana Tuna Wahoo Classic

Louisiana Tuna & Wahoo Classic

Feb 1st - Mar 31st

Get ready for the 2026 Louisiana Tuna and Wahoo Classic in the heart of Venice, LA—a premier fishing event where the Gulf’s most skilled anglers compete for the biggest catch. With the tournament’s multiple weigh stations, options for fishing days, and big-money prizes, this is an event that many sports fishermen always put skin in the game.

For two months, the Louisiana Tuna & Wahoo Classic brings together the top tuna and wahoo fishermen in the Northern Gulf, chasing big money and entertainment. Yamaha Outboards presents a Cajun night out for the Louisiana Tuna & Wahoo Classic participants at the beginning of the season, with live music and a crawfish boil at Maple Leaf Bar.  Teams will choose their three best fishing days throughout the months of February and March in search of the largest fish. The event will conclude at the end of March and the top tuna and wahoo winners will be awarded with big checks and a champagne shower.

Held annually, this one-of-a-kind rodeo brings together local communities, outdoor enthusiasts, and conservationists for a fun-filled day of competitive hunting, family-friendly activities, and live entertainment. Participants compete to harvest as many nutria, an invasive species wreaking havoc on Louisiana’s wetlands, as they can, all while raising awareness about the importance of preserving the state’s fragile ecosystem.
